Amorim has been answering questions on his new role with many expecting him to return the Red Devils back to their glory days. He will have the headstart of working with players he knew from previous roles.

Amorim excited to coach Manuel Ugarte

The 39-year-old has expressed his excitement about working with Manuel Ugarte again. The duo won the league title in Portugal before the Uruguayan moved to Paris Saint-Germain.

"All the Uruguayans I managed are incredible, and that’s why I love all Uruguayans. Ugarte is a very talented boy and has a lot of room to grow. I am very happy to know that I have him back at Manchester United," he said to TNT Sports via MEN.

Ugarte has struggled to impose himself as expected at Old Trafford and will hope that Amorim will help him settle quickly in the new environment. He only started one game under Erik ten Hag but has featured in all three under Van Nistelrooy.
