The two giants were drawn against each other in the third round of the FA Cup, giving them the toughest possible start to this season's competition.
Manchester United, the defending champions, will travel to the Emirates Stadium on 12 January. The Red Devils surprisingly beat Manchester City in last season's final, giving Erik ten Hag his second trophy in as many years.

According to the FA competition rules, the away team is supposed to get 15% of the stadium's capacity, which in this case is 9,000, given Emirates is a 60,000-seater stadium.
Manchester United files complaint against Arsenal
However, Manchester United was given a significantly lower number, which is unacceptable to Old Trafford chiefs. Attempts to resolve the issue between the two cubs are said to have failed, leaving United with no option but to file a complaint with the FA.
United feels that the kickoff of the game, at 3 PM UK time, is ideal to prevent any crowd trouble. Matches have often been brought forward to ensure the security of fans is guaranteed.
This will be the 17th meeting between the two clubs in the FA Cup. They have already met in the league this season when Arsenal beat Amorim's United 2-0 at the Emirates.
