Chelsea moved to within two points of Premier OLeague leaders after beating Brentford in a tightly contested London derby.

After winning their last five league games, the Blues are second in the table, but some have been reluctant to call them genuine title contenders.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is still unconvinced about Chelsea and gave his reasons.

Chelsea's 2024/25 season

The Blues entered the season with Enzo Maresca as their new coach following Mauricio Pochettino's exit.

There were doubts about the change since Pochettino's Chelsea was becoming a better team. However, Maresca has done well, and the Blues are flying after 16 matches.

Maresca's team have the best attack in the division and have suffered just two defeats all season.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson have been the standout performers so far. The London club are looking to win the Premier League for the first time since 2017.

Henry's doubts about Chlesea's chances

During his appearance on Monday Night Football at Sky Sports, Henry touched on major talking points from matchday 16 this past weekend.

He explained his doubts about Chelsea's chances of lifting the league this season.

"They still haven't beaten a big team. Yes, they came back against Tottenham. Show me you can beat Liverpool, show me you can beat Man City, show me you can beat Arsenal," he said.

Chelsea have played against all the top six teams and have beaten only Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool are the leading contenders to win the league.

There were mixed reactions from Chelsea's fans about Henry's analysis.

"We've been saying stuff like this lol but everyone is quick to throw title talk."

Maresca addresses Chelsea’s title hopes

Briefly News earlier reported that Maresca expressed cautious optimism about Chelsea's position, acknowledging the team’s impressive form but emphasizing the need to maintain consistency in the title race.

With upcoming fixtures against Everton and other top contenders, Chelsea’s title aspirations remain in their hands.
