Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster has shared his thoughts after scoring in Burnley's 3-2 loss against Manchester United in the English Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday, September 30, 2025.

The South African international struck the equaliser in the 55th minute to level the score at 1-1, but was unlucky to have a second goal ruled out by VAR, as his side eventually fell 3-2. It was his first goal in the EPL for Burnley this season, and he hopes to score more as the Clarets aim to stay in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old's performance earned him a place in Hugo Broos' 23-man squad for the Bafana Bafana World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Nigeria.

Foster reacts after scoring against Man Utd

During an interview with Burnley's media team, Foster expressed his disappointment despite finding the back of the net.

The former Orlando Pirates striker believes Burnley deserved a point from the game due to their performance at Old Trafford.

“It’s disappointing. I think we played really well, and for the game to end the way it did, it just breaks our hearts,” he told the club’s media.
“We definitely deserved something from the match, and the way it ended felt a bit unfair. But it is what it is. It’s unfortunate, but we can hold our heads high. We played well and there’s a lot to be proud of going forward.”
