“South Africa and Nigeria have always produced tight matches. The last five meetings show two wins for Nigeria, two draws, and just one win for Bafana Bafana. It’s clear that these sides know each other well, so it will come down to who executes on the day.”
Nigeria will be missing an important player
Biyela also weighed in on key players, since Nigeria will be without their star striker Victor Osimhen due to an injury.
“South Africa is strong at home and has a largely fit squad. Captain Ronwen Williams will lead from the back, while Lyle Foster will provide firepower up front. Nigeria, however, could be without star striker Victor Osimhen. His absence changes their dynamic, but they still have players like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze who can make an impact.”
Biyela told Briefly News that “expect a tactical, intense game where both teams will be cautious but sharp on the counter. Set pieces might decide the outcome if neither side can break the deadlock.”

Where to watch the match in South Africa?
Fans in South Africa can watch the match live on SuperSport and SABC, including streaming via the SABC Plus app or the DStv streaming app.
International viewers can follow updates and streaming options depending on their region. Kick-off is set for 18:00 local time, making it a prime-time showdown for the home crowd.
With Bafana Bafana looking to cement their lead and Nigeria desperate to close the gap, this clash promises tension, high stakes, and plenty of drama.
All things being equal, a victory for Bafana Bafana would seriously dent the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualification chances, unless South Africa loses the three points from their March 2025 2-0 win over Lesotho, when an ineligible Teboho Mokoena played. FIFA has yet to comment on the matter.
Favourite to win the South Africa vs Nigeria clash
Briefly News also reported that a Nigerian sports analyst has named the favourite to win the South Africa vs Super Eagles tie in their upcoming World Cup qualifier.
The match is expected to be a close encounter, but one of the teams has been predicted to be the favourite to win the tie.
