Teboho Mokoena Linked to Aminah Hatia From TUT After Stunning Free-Kick Goal

  • An X blogger claiming to share gossip posted an unverified claim linking Mamelodi Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena to a third girlfriend
  • The posts about Aminah Hatia from TUT spread widely online just after Mokoena scored a stunning free-kick in Sundowns' 5-2 win over AmaZulu
  • Mzansi football fans divided sharply, with some defending the midfielder's privacy and others cracking jokes about the timing

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena found himself at the centre of social media chatter this week, and not entirely for his football.

Fresh off a standout performance in Sundowns' 5-2 victory over AmaZulu, the number 4 shirt holder for both the Pretoria club and Bafana Bafana was dragged into an unverified dating scandal that split Mzansi fans right down the middle.

The noise started when X blogger @discreetdiva_ posted an image claiming to introduce

"TEBOHO MOKOENA 3rd girlfriend Aminah Hatia from TUT." The post was not verified, and Mokoena himself has not responded publicly to the claims.

Free-kick fizz meets off-field fire

The timing of the post raised eyebrows, coming shortly after @Lorenz_KO called Mokoena "the best player in Mzansi" following his stunning free-kick against AmaZulu on 26 August. That compliment quickly got buried under the wave of gossip that followed.

A separate post from @discreetdiva_ also dredged up older allegations, with an anonymous tip suggesting Mokoena and someone named Tiyandza Mtethwa were expecting a child together. Replying to that older claim, @dontdorh wrote:

"This girl knew of Somila Green. Tiyandza has been Teboho Mokoena's side chick knowingly for a while. JHB streets have been talking about them."

None of these claims has been independently confirmed.

Mzansi reacts to the rumours

@_shimane_ took a more matter-of-fact view:

"Someone tried exposing Teboho Mokoena for having multiple girlfriends, football fans ba re, 'ke Player ya Sechaba' he can have as many as he wants."

Not everyone was amused by the circus. @Ntokii012 directed a pointed message at supporters trying to rope in the broader public:

"Say 'my favourite player is back'… don't include Mzansi in your Shenanigans."

@Sibusis34190122 kept it simple:

"I don't care about these players' private lives as long as they are performing on the field of play"

Mokoena recently gave fans a glimpse into his lifestyle, sharing images on Instagram this weekend of a top-of-the-range Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid valued at upwards of R1.2 million. The star player's portfolio of off-field ventures keeps growing and includes partnerships with Garnier, Investec, Power2Health, and sporting sponsor PUMA.

Bafana Bafana star ranked among the best

Briefly News also reported that a Bafana Bafana star was ranked among the best performers at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup despite South Africa's poor performance.

The South African international has showcased his football talent on the global stage, even as the team struggled in the group stage.
