Billionaire businessman and CAF President Patrice Motsepe has set social media ablaze after a clip emerged of him stepping out of the driver's seat of a maroon Rolls-Royce.

The footage, shared by X account Peché Africa (@pmcafrica) on Sunday, showed the mogul greeting a small crowd of onlookers and security personnel on a cobbled street after parking the luxury vehicle himself.
The post carried the caption

What Rolls-Royce was Motsepe driving?
The vehicle is recognisable by its large vertical grille and its distinctive front-end styling, all hallmarks of a Rolls-Royce.
This is not the first time Motsepe has been caught on camera at the wheel of a Rolls-Royce. In 2024, he was filmed arriving at a traditional coronation in Mmakau village in North West driving one himself, with reports at the time placing the value of that vehicle at around R8 million. The exact location and date of the latest clip have not been independently established.
Motsepe is the founder of African Rainbow Minerals, the Chairman of Harmony Gold, the deputy chairman of Sanlam, the President of the Confederation of African Football, and the owner of Mamelodi Sundowns, a club he took over in 2003. Forbes currently estimates his net worth at $3.6 billion. He joined the Giving Pledge in 2013, committing to donate at least half of his wealth to philanthropic causes.
