Bafana Bafana legend Hlompho Kekana reserved glowing praise for Shandre Campbell and Puso Dithejane following South Africa's 1-0 victory over Egypt, describing the build-up and finish for the winning goal as something to marvel at.
Dithejane, the Chicago Fire winger, netted his first goal in a senior Bafana shirt during what was his first full senior appearance for the national side, having previously featured six times in the COSAFA Cup. The goal came courtesy of a perfectly weighted pass from Campbell, who had only just entered the game as a second-half substitute.
**Kekana Breaks Down the Winning Goal**
Speaking on SABC3 after the final whistle, Kekana, a decorated former captain of both Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns, walked viewers through exactly what impressed him about the goal sequence.
He highlighted Campbell's awareness before even receiving the ball, noting that the forward was already scanning his options and anticipating where the next pass would go.

"What we should marvel is the positive play by these two boys," Kekana said. "Poggenpoel to look forward, Shandre already look at this, Shandre looks forward, already he scans, he knows his feet, he knows where he's gonna take the ball."
Kekana then turned his focus to Dithejane's movement, emphasising that the winger had already committed to his run from deep inside South Africa's own half before the ball was even played.
"With the right pace of the ball from Poggenpoel, look at how he receives — already look at Puso. Puso is coming from our half and already says you're gonna pass to me whether you like it or not," he said.
**"That's the Aggression We Talk About"**
For Kekana, Dithejane's determination to get in behind the defensive line captured a quality he believes is essential in attacking players.
"That's the aggression we talk about when we speak about the attackers, you're forcing the ball the player on the ball to give you this kind of ball and you'll never get it if you're not putting your hand break down. You have to sprint, you have to make sure that you're aggressive to get the ball behind the last line. He is quick, he is aggressive and he's got a dribble, he's a South African player," Kekana said.
He reserved a final word of admiration for Campbell's delivery, describing the pass as technically precise and perfectly weighted.
"With that ball from Shandre, with the execution of the ball, the good technique, the weight of the ball. I can just marvel that because used to I love that Campbell ball," Kekana added.
