TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has publicly stated that the door remains open for Bernard Parker at the club, maintaining that the former coach's exit was not triggered by the attention drawn to his personal circumstances.

Sukazi confirmed last month on Ikwekwezi FM that the Rockets were restructuring their technical team. Reports subsequently linked Bosnian coach Admir Azem to the vacant position. Speaking to SABC Sport on Thursday, 15 October 2026, Sukazi was direct in separating the timing of those changes from the public discussion surrounding Parker's private life.
"No, as a club, of course, we're also quite surprised when we saw the long statement coming from his social media account, you know, but then you'd understand that clubs and employers in general don't really get too involved in people's personal affairs," Sukazi said.
Parker Offered Reserve League Role Before His Exit
Sukazi disclosed that before Parker's departure, the club had offered him a position as reserve league coach. As part of that restructure, Esau Mtsweni, who took charge of TS Galaxy in their fixture against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night, was promoted to senior team assistant coach.

Sukazi added that Parker had shared his intention to continue developing his coaching qualifications abroad, suggesting the former striker had his own reasons for stepping away from the club at this stage.
Sukazi Hopes Parker Stays in Football
Despite the departure, Sukazi was effusive about Parker's contribution to South African football and expressed a desire to see the former Bafana Bafana striker remain active in the game.
"We want Bernard Parker to live within the game of football. He's a legend to our country. He's accomplished a lot and has done a lot for our country. So we would always be pleased to see him within the game of football. And as I've said to him, he knows it, the TS Galaxy platform has always been there for him and, yeah, opportunities would always be there. We would always try to retain him just in the interest of South African football," said Sukazi.
On the matter of Parker's personal challenges, Sukazi offered measured words, saying Parker "is a man, he should find a way to resolve it" so that he could return to football when ready.
