Springboks star Pieter-Steph du Toit has struck an endorsement deal with South African outdoor company Cape Union Mart, which will see him take on an ambassadorial role.

The sport and outdoor retailer partnered with Du Toit as it looks to move the brand in a more experience-driven, community-focused direction. The company is also reinforcing its belief that adventure is not just something people do, but something that requires preparation and commitment.
True to these principles, the former World Rugby Player of the Year embodies the brand’s values. Speaking after being unveiled as an ambassador on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, Du Toit, popularly known as PTSD among fans, shared his excitement.
“Being named an ambassador for Cape Union Mart and K-Way is something I’m incredibly proud of,” he said.

He added that these are brands deeply rooted in the South African lifestyle, built for resilience, adventure, and the outdoors.
He continued:
“Those values align closely with my journey in rugby, where preparation, endurance, and embracing every challenge are key.”
Du Toit also expressed excitement about being part of a partnership that aims to inspire people to get outside and push their limits. True to his words, the veteran Springbok has a passion for adventure. In 2025, he spent time with his wife on a Kariega getaway in July.

Director of brand strategy at Cape Union Mart, Martine Vogelman, welcomed Du Toit and described him as the “real deal”.

Pieter-Steph du Toit’s legacy with the Springboks
Pieter-Steph du Toit made history in 2024 when he became the first South African to win the prestigious World Rugby Player of the Year award twice. His latest triumph cemented his status as one of the greatest Springboks of the modern era. He first won the accolade in 2019 following a phenomenal Rugby World Cup campaign that saw South Africa lift the Webb Ellis Cup. Six years later, his consistency, power, and leadership have once again earned him global recognition.
Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has identified Du Toit as a potential successor to Siya Kolisi as captain, citing his leadership qualities on the field. The flanker successfully underwent a shoulder surgery in February and is now on the path to full recovery. He is racing against time to be available for the Springboks’ opening match of the season against England in July.
