Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has urged his side to convert their collective experience into tangible performance when they face the All Blacks at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, warning that a wealth of Test rugby knowledge counts for little without results on the field.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Kolisi acknowledged the squad had navigated similar setbacks before but made clear that reflection alone would not be enough this weekend.
"It's not just me. We've all been in this position before, with the Lions, with the World Cup, losing the first game, and I think we know how to handle the situation," Kolisi said.
"But now what's most important is actually on the field itself. We need to go and play and execute."
South Africa trail 1-0 in the four-Test Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series following last weekend's 33-16 defeat to New Zealand at Ellis Park. With three Tests remaining, Kolisi stressed the urgency of securing a result in Cape Town.
"They're all important, but we all know this is a four-game series, so it's important for us to get this win this weekend," he said.

Boks identify missed opportunities from Ellis Park
Rather than fixating on the 17-point margin, the Springbok squad used their review session during the week to examine the chances they failed to capitalise on.
"When we watched the game afterwards, we watched it as rugby players with the coaching staff. We looked at the score, yes, it was a big scoreline, but we looked at the opportunities we missed," Kolisi explained.
"If we had got those opportunities, maybe things would have been different."
Stick Vows to Make South Africa Proud
The side set to take the field on Saturday will be among the most experienced in Springbok history, with four centurions in the starting line-up: Eben Etzebeth, Kolisi, Damian de Allende, and Pieter-Steph du Toit, who recently reached the milestone.
Assistant coach Mzwandile Stick reinforced the team's resolve ahead of the fixture, emphasising the squad's obligation to represent the country with distinction.
