Presley Gerber, the son of iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford and entrepreneur Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27. His passing was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, who stated that he died on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at a rehabilitation facility. An autopsy had not yet been completed at the time of confirmation.
A representative for Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia Gerber confirmed the news to TMZ, with the family releasing a brief statement.
"The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."
Presley Gerber's modelling career and personal struggles
Born in California in 1999, Presley followed in the footsteps of his mother by pursuing a career in modelling. Signed by IMG Models at just 15 years old, he quickly gained significant industry attention alongside younger sister Kaia, who is also a model, by the time he was 17. His portfolio included a runway debut at a Moschino show in Los Angeles, a Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan, and a Calvin Klein campaign.

However, his personal life proved far more turbulent. In 2019, he was arrested for driving under the influence. In the years that followed, he became increasingly candid about his battles with mental health and substance use, channelling those experiences into helping others going through similar difficulties.
"Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do," he shared on the Studio 22 podcast.
He had also alluded to personal loss: "Unfortunately, I've had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it's the reason why I am where I'm at now."

Presley Gerber's final social media posts
His last Instagram post, dated 6 August, featured photographs of him posing for activewear brand Vuori. Prior to that, he shared a video reflecting on his experience undergoing an Ibogaine Flood Dose treatment, a therapy sometimes associated with addiction recovery.
In his own words, the experience was both terrifying and transformative.
"Quiet moment before everything changed. i was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this… letting go of control didn't come easy, but I trusted there was something bigger than me guiding it. I knew why i was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, i started finding my way back to myself 🤍…. Praying it's the last time I have to come back. Next time I'd like to choose."
