WhatsApp screenshots between a Kenyan man identified as Korir and his girlfriend have gone viral, eliciting mixed reactions.

In the screenshots, the lady begged her boyfriend to pay her best friend's bill after he left them at a restaurant.

Korir told her he was not going to pay the other lady's bill, asking his girlfriend, who tagged her along to their date, to settle it.

"I told you earlier I had only budgeted for one person, but you went ahead to invite your friend. I ate cooked bananas worth KSh 250. You and your friend ordered for worth KSh 500 each and she took juice for KSh 300. You have no manners!" the man lamented.

The lady begged her boyfriend to settle the bill, but he remained adamant. He sent the lady R50 and told her to pay the remaining part of her bill and her friend's.

"You are responsible for your own appetite," he texted before going mia and refusing to pick his girlfriend's calls.

Elsewhere, a hilarious TikTok clip showed a group of women at a restaurant shocked by their R1115 bill.

The women could be seen doing some maths to figure out how much they each had to pay for their meal. They looked stunned and unexcited as they realised they would have to splash out a lot of money in one go.

Their faces were filled with disbelief and regret as they discovered they had spent a fortune in one sitting.

They also tried to figure out how to split the bill evenly, which did not please them. Many social media users who watched the video indicated it was the same for men; only one person foots the bill there and then shares the burden on their way home.
