King Charles III First Vowed to Serve With Loyalty Love and Respect in His Televised First Nation Address

  • King Charles III made his first televised speech as the new King of the United Kingdom after his mother, Queen Elizabeth passed away
  • The king promised to service the UK and all its territories with loyalty, love and respect regardless of background or beliefs
  • He expressed love to his family, Harry and Meghan included, and thanked the world for their support and condolences

British King Charles III made his first televised speech as head of state in the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth realms, including South African. In his address from Buckingham Palace, King Charles said that his life will indeed change with this new position and sato the territories under his rule:

"Wherever you may live in the United Kingdom or in the realms and territories across the world, and whatever may be your background or beliefs, I shall endeavour to serve you with loyalty, respects and love, as I have all my life."

According to News 24 The King greeted mourners outside the palace before making his speech. He remembered his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth, following her passing and said that the Royal Family owes her for being an inspiration and example. He also mentioned this of his mother:

"Queen Elizabeth was a life well lived, a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing. That promise of lifelong service I renew to you all today."

King Charles mentioned his son Harry after years of tension between the Royal Family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry and Meghan did a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey detailing their challenging lives with the family before stepping down from their royal duties.

"I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas."

The King gave thanks for the support and condolences that the family have received across the and that he can't express how much they mean to him.
