Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, had reportedly been under investigation after a November 6, 2021, incident in California.
The alleged victim claimed Rocky shot at him several times, grazing his left hand.
Police searched Rocky's house before being released after posting a bond.
Rocky in trouble in Sweden
This is not the first time the rapper is facing legal problems. In 2019, he was charged with assault, causing visible bodily harm in Sweden.
He was in the country to perform at the Smash festival, but a fight broke out while walking with his entourage in the country’s capital.
Rocky spent a month in jail after pleading not guilty to the charge. He was handed a suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay damages to the victim.
Separation rumours
Briefly News previously reported rumours the couple had separated after he allegedly cheated on her turned out to be untrue.
Amina Muaddi, the woman accused of being involved with Rocky, denied the allegations.
The Fenty shoe designer thought the rumour would not be taken seriously but realised that was not the case.
"I've been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics, regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off-limits," wrote Amina.
She stated that she would continue to mind her business while Rihanna continues to live her "best-dressed pregnancy life".
