Talented singer Zanele 'Mazet' Maseko's cause of death has been revealed as cardiovascular disease.

The star's passing was confirmed by the Mina Nawe Twitter page last week.

Mazet was a member of the house music singing trio that's been performing since 2000.

The group's spokesperson, Nkosiphambili Molapisi, told Sunday World that Mazet was taken to hospital on 5 April after complaining of a severe headache.

By the time she arrived at the undisclosed hospital, the singer had lost functionality in some of her limbs.

Mazet's family was later told that she'd suffered a mild stroke.

The star looked to be recovering and in good spirits for the next week.

However, her mom was shocked when she received a call from the hospital on 12 April informing her that Zanele had died.

Mazet's mom, Modiegi Masemola, said, "We had hoped she would fully recover as we knew she was strong and under the best care."

Briefly.co.za reported that another Mzansi star who recently passed away is Vinolia 'V-Mash' Mashego.

Vinolia passed away suddenly in her sleep last week.

The Moja Love television channel that Vinolia had recently become a part of as a presenter blessed her family with a R200 000 donation.

Bonang Matheba is one celeb who kept Vinolia close to her heart and expounded on how the older role model shaped her own journey in the presenting business.
