DJ Maphorisa has released his new album Money Heist and it has been a roaring success. In fact, it was so well received that Nasty C's amazing album, Zulu Man with Power has been knocked off the top of Apple Music's chart.
The album was released on Friday, 4 September, and has managed to fend off other strong competitors including, Busiswa’s “SBWL,” featuring Kamo Mphela, and Nadia Nakai’s deluxe edition of “Nadia Naked II.”
Briefly.co.za learned that Maphorisa's latest EP includes fan favourites such as Bella Ciao,” featuring Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, “My Dali,” featuring Shasha, Myztro, Mas Musiq and Thabzin SA, and “Sofa si Lahlane.”
This has been an amazing time for South African artists who are dominating international releases, showing that South African music is maturing and reaching more markets.
The amapiano genre is definitely going to change the musical landscape as it spreads across the globe.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that DJ Maphorisa has revealed that comments from Twitter don't impress him that much. The musician recently shared that he prefers Instagram comments than those from the micro-blogging app.
The star's confidence was hurt by the popular app's trolls when he shared two snaps of himself in a saucy colourful outfit. Instead of praising him for the outfit that Phori believed was all sorts of drip, the trolls compared him to a clown because of its colours.
In other news, Nasty C is doing big things. The rapper recently got a shout-out from J. Coles's record label showing love to his new album Zulu Man With Some Power.
The album has been topping the music charts and hardly anyone is surprised. Boasting an impressive list of international features, Nasty C dropped a banger.
