It is an exciting time for South African teams with many of them unveiling their new jerseys and soccer kits. The most recent jersey revelation is that of South African national football team, Bafana Bafana.

The team's management took to their official Twitter page, @BafanaBafana to share pictures of their brand new jersey design which was modelled by local football stars. "Bafana Bafana stars in newly launched jersey," they captioned the post.

Twitter users reacted to the post nearly 1 000 times. Many Twitter users, however, did not seem very impressed by the green, yellow and white jerseys which were decorated with asymmetrical lines and the Bafana Bafana emblem. They quickly took to the comments section and shared their thoughts.

"Ugly... Hopefully ugly will scare other opponents and bring good luck. There was no need for the plain bottom area, the whole jersey should have just had the pattern on the top part."

Briefly.co.za previously reported, after much mockery and taunting of the new kit, Orlando Pirates FC has sold out the new orange away jersey. The jersey has been compared to items such as Boxer tobacco, but that didn't stop die-hard fans from purchasing it.

According to a tweet by @orlandopirates, the jersey sold out online on Tuesday but was fortunately restocked yesterday. The Buccaneers collaborated with Adidas on this new kit and released it on Tuesday morning.

The going price for the jersey is R799 and more are due to go on sale on 8 October. After all the flack the design team received for the new kit, it's quite a surprise that the bright orange jersey sold out in a matter of hours.
