Musa Sukwene originates from Witbank, eMalahleni in Mpumalanga. He later moved to Johannesburg to pursue his career in music. Bafana and Musa Sukwene are biological brothers, while songbird Tebello Sukwene is the singer’s sister-in-law.

The musician has a son whom he got when he was 22 years old. However, there is no one holding the Musa Sukwene wife title as of 2020. For some time, he has been rumoured to be dating Rorisang Thandenkiso, SABC 1’s Insider TV presenter. The two have denied the rumours stating that they are just good friends.

The singer had earlier opened up about his struggle with studies at a young age because of dyslexia, a learning disability. People used to associate the condition with laziness, but he managed to overcome it through music and hard work.

The singer revealed that music was part of his studies at school. He used to perform at corporate events and restaurants before joining Idols SA. He entered the singing competition with the hope of getting his name out there.

He has released songs like Mthande, Ngivumele, Mad in Love, Makoti, Nomkitha, and many more, which were received well by South Africans. Mthande, in which he featured the late Robbie Malinga, is his biggest hit so far, with over 7 million views on YouTube as of 2020. He also has more than 22,000 subscribers on YouTube.
