On 13th September 2020, the Idols SA judges, Randall, Somizi, and Unathi, made what would be dubbed as the final judgement. The ruling that they made narrowed down the number of contestants from 31 to 16. Among those that could not proceed to the next stage of the competition is Matevhu, DJ Zinhle's favourite. The remaining 16 will battle for the final prize of the competition.
