Early life

The musician was born in Musina and raised in a village known as Mountain View. He spent his early years with his grandmother, and at the age of eight years, moved to Polokwane International Gateway to be with his parents.

Mvzzle parents have always been supportive of their son. His mother is a businesswoman, while his father was a bandmaster at the SA Army Band. The DJ developed a soft spot for music and learned how to play the drums at a young age.

Career

In 2016, when he was in grade 6, he became so consumed with music to the extent of teaching himself how to play the drums via his desk and ruler. In 2008, his brother introduced him to Reason 4, a software used to produce music.

He made the difficult choice to drop out of college and pursue music. His journey was made easier by SAACYF (South African Arts and Culture Youth Forum) that provided him with an opportunity to play during events such as Major League Gardens, Motsepe Foundation, and Mapungubwe Arts Festival, among many others.

DJ Mvzzle was lucky enough to join the SABC 1’s and 2’s DJ competition, where he emerged third. After completing the competition, he reached out to renowned DJ and entrepreneur Zinhle with two beats. One of the beats is now the smash-hit Umlilo featuring Rethabile.
