According to Marca, the American pop star's net worth was estimated to be between $50 and $100 million from 1985 to 1995. That gave him sufficient resources to splurge cars and modify them to his unique taste.

Jackson was born on 29 August 1958

We've chosen five cars that were part of Jackson's eclectic collection, including two Rolls-Royce luxury sedans and one cool Mercedes-Benz saloon.

1. Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL W126

According to HotCars.com, the luxury German saloon was Jackson's daily drive, and he spent over 10 years driving the V8-powered model.

The 500 SEL was fitted with luxury features such as cruise control, leather seats and special plastic moulded bumpers. Mercedes built over 800 000 models in 12 years at its facility in Germany.

2. Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph

According to BMW Group Classic, the Silver Seraph is powered by the V12 engine from BMW's 750iL model. It is over five metres long and weighs over 2 300kg.

The exclusive model saw only 1 570 made, and 11 cow hides were used to cover the seats in leather.

3. Ford Econoline E150 Van

According to HotCars.com, Jackson used the cool Ford van for long road trips and fitted it with television screens for the rear passengers and a TV game console to enjoy.

According to Cars.com, the E150 is powered by a V8 engine and offers sufficient grunt to power its large frame.

4. Lincoln Town Car

According to CarAndDriver, the Town Car is a quintessential American sedan. It has a comfortable suspension, V8 power and a huge boot to fit the kitchen sink inside.

Jackson was a big fan of the spacious interior. Lincoln was Ford's luxury brand bought by the carmaker 100 years ago.

5. Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II

ClassicandSportscar.com says the luxury British saloon is powered by a V8 engine.

Its seats were covered in high-quality leather, and it had high-grain wood in the interior to offer wealthy owners a special place to enjoy the four-door sedan.

Jackson's particular model was modified with tinted windows and a fully-stocked bar to enjoy a cool beverage when sitting in the backseat.
