Trust Tyla to cause commotion by simply being herself. The Grammy-winner recently uploaded a video getting ready for her performance in Barbados.

The Bliss hitmaker was the headlining act at the yearly Tipsy Music Festival and partied with the Bajan Tygers. Leading up to the performance, Tyla posted a video on TikTok getting ready for her show.

Fans were once again treated to a raw and honest Tyla, who revealed that she had to do her own hair. But her reasoning was what had some people surprised.

Is Tyla broke?

The answer is no; however, she led many people to think so. In the video posted on 23 July 2025, Tyla was sitting in her hotel room, contemplating which outfit to wear. She had the option to choose a risque dress that "would make me look like a woman." Or a safe outfit. She went for the safe option.

Tyla then revealed that she had to do her own hair because she was on a tight budget. The multi-award-winning singer bought her curling iron to style her braids in a stylish way.

Tyla nails Barbados performance

At the show, Tyla performed some of her chart-topping hits, including her smash hits Water, Push 2 Start and Shake Ahh. Tyla also previewed some of her unreleased material from her EP We Wanna Party.

SA fans were sad that they missed the show because it was far away, but one fan said she took it back to her epic Hey Neighbour performance. Tyla has always danced to Barcadi music and proudly so.
