South African podcasters have been called out following The Open Chats Podcast, racist remarks about Coloured people. Amapino music duo, Major League DJz, have publicly condemned the hosts of the award-winning podcast.

The young podcasters were subjected to intense scrutiny after a clip of them making offensive remarks about Coloured people went viral.

Major League DJz react to podcast remarks

Bakwa Lah hitmakers, Major League DJz, took to Twitter on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, to call out not only the podcasters but podcasts as a whole. Their message points to them noticing a growing trend of sensationalism and rage-baiting among SA podcasts.

"These podcasts are getting out of hand now. People are just saying things for reactions and trends. SMH," they wrote.

The DJs were not the only ones to call them out. Even Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie, threatened legal action against the podcast, "We must never allow people to become that comfortable," he said. "I want a report today on how we're going to deal with those who said that people of coloureds are "crazy."

These podcasts are cyberbullying celebrities, and all you do is laugh! They must be held accountable!"

American shows Coloureds support amid backlash

In a previous report from Briefly News, an American woman on TikTok expressed her love and support for the coloured community by sharing a video on TikTok. She condemned the podcast's remarks and urged people on how to move on.

"I wanna send all my love to coloured people right now. I know a lot of black people and coloured people are still trying to wrap their minds around what was said on that podcast Open Chats podcast. I just wanna send all my love to coloured people from all over," said @caroline_jones_1994.
