Former Generations actor gets teary-eyed during interview

On Thursday, 7 August 2025, David Mashabela shared a teaser of his two-part sitdown with Mbebe, known for portraying Dumisani in the original Generations.

The episode, which premiered on the King David Studio YouTube channel on Tuesday, 6 August 2025, took an emotional turn when Mashabela asked Mbebe to talk about his late mother.

The question caught Mbebe off guard, and after a 17-second pause, Mbebe responded:

“Everything.”

Mashabela apologised for making Mbebe emotional and handed the veteran actor some tissues. Mbebe went on to explain why he doesn’t refer to his late mother in the past tense.

“She's everything. I don't talk about my mom in the past tense because she's here and she will always be here, you know,” he elaborated.

Mbebe described her as a peace-loving, compassionate, and kind individual. He said:
