"Social media backlash can have a lasting impact on a personality’s brand value. Even comments or posts made more than a decade ago can resurface and destroy someone’s brand."
Netizens react after Chris Excel exposes plot against MacG
After Chris Excel shared the screenshots, netizens applauded him for rejecting the offer and exposing the plot against MacG.
Here are some of the comments:
@Pinkdoll_love argued:
“This is crazy. If someone is being offered R100k just to attack MacG and Mzansi Magic, then it’s clearly not about holding anyone accountable. It’s personal. You don’t offer that kind of money unless you’re trying to push an agenda.”
@Waylonjunior highlighted:
“Excellent job, President 👌👌👌👌. Haibo, this entertainment industry is beyond brutal. It’s a toxic cult with fake smiles and backstabbing handshakes.”
@DeesseRudigan suggested:
“You should have played along to go find out who they are, then oust them. Bhayizile.”
@AfterEarth said:
“How about we raise that amount instead for being a real one 🤔”
@thekelo_Teekay gushed:
"Man of integrity."
