She and all the creators who promoted this job opportunity were called out; however, with Cyan's prominence, she became the main target.

Now, a popular X content creator, @ChrisExcel102, re-shared the picture, implying that Cyan has always been a hard worker.

"Cyan Boujee was born a hustler," he wrote adding laughing emojis.

In September 2024, Cyan Boujee claimed that the former South African President is her grandfather. In the photo, the DJ, whose real name is Honour Zuma, and Zuma were in a private jet. Not much context was given on where they were going or what mutual interests they both have.

"Cats out the bag! He’s my grandad," she wrote on Instagram.

Influencer Siyamthanda speaks out

Young South African influencer Siyamthanda attempted to clear her name in the Russian program drama. Peeps found out that the program allegedly misled young Africans into assembling drones for Ukraine and more.

She did more damage than good when she shared her side of the story of how she ended up being a part of those who have been promoting this program on social media.

Netizens were not buying her story, as one commenter, @mzuzups, said:

"What she does not understand is that everything she saw, everyone she saw, was not a coincidence, including random chats with South African girls; it was neither random nor coincidental, that's Russia, it was planned for her satisfaction."

Cyan Boujee's TikTok account banned

Cyan Boujee is counting her losses after her TikTok account, which had more than 1.8 million followers, was permanently shut down for allegedly promoting a reportedly bogus Russian program.

The news dealt a huge blow to the young media personality, who had built much of her brand and following on the platform through lifestyle content, flashy displays of luxury, and her often provocative takes on trending issues. Social media users, however, were unsympathetic, with many agreeing that Cyan got what she deserved, especially after her dismissive reaction to the backlash. She further angered Mzansi when she fired back with a controversial post captioned "from BBL to BBC," mocking the situation after she was featured on an international news site over the scandal.

As if losing her TikTok platform wasn’t enough, the fallout has spilt over to her other accounts. Cyan has been shedding thousands of followers on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), with critics accusing her of prioritising clout over credibility. Some fans pointed out that repeated controversies, from public feuds with other celebrities to past leaked scandals, have damaged her reputation and may be catching up with her.
