Award-winning South African rapper Cassper Nyovest responded after being dragged for his weight in the best way ever.

Cassper Nyovest topped social media trending charts for his unique Scorpion Kings Live concert performance. The Kusho Bani hitmaker also trended for his outfit at the historic event hosted by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small on Friday, 29 August 2025.

While Cassper Nyovest initially responded with words, at one moment dragging a woman who dissed his Scorpion Kings Live concert outfit, he eventually took a different approach.

On Friday, 5 September 2025, Cassper Nyovest shared a video on his official Instagram account. In the video, a sweaty and slightly out-of-breath Cassper Nyovest addressed comments about his weight.

The rapper admitted that while the comments about his weight were hurtful, they motivated him to start getting in shape ahead of his Fill Up Toyota Stadium concert on 6 December 2025. He revealed his gym and exercise regimen, saying:

“We’re three months from Fill Up, and I’ve officially started training. I was doing cardio all week. This time it’s a bit more fun ‘cos I’m playing tennis. Next week I’ll be starting weight training. The comments over the weekend were harsh. I mean, you hurt my feelings a little bit, but sometimes that’s what you need, right? A little push.”

Later in the video, Cassper Nyovest took jabs at people who made fun of his weight, such as Prince Kaybee, saying that their words were a reflection of their deep-seated insecurities.

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that Cassper Nyovest faced major criticism for his Fill Up Toyota Stadium internship program.

South Africans called the rapper for one of the conditions for candidates interested in the program. While many fans expressed interest, others claimed Mufasa was exploiting desperate youth who needed employment.
