We finally have an update on DJ Chymamusique's health weeks after his horrific car accident.

The Lost in Words hitmaker was involved in a fatal car crash in the early hours of Saturday, 30 August 2025, along the N1 near the Ysterberg Mountain outside Polokwane.

After spending over a week in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Chyma's loved ones released a brief statement updating the public on his condition.

According to the statement, Chyma has undergone four operations. Although still in critical condition, the DJ has been removed from the ICU and is awaiting another operation:

While the news serves as a sigh of relief for many, it still does not mask the tragedy of the horrific accident that claimed five lives.

DJ Poizen, who was popular in the Gauteng and Limpopo entertainment scenes, tragically lost his life in the wreckage along with a family of four.

In Chyma's update, posted on Twitter (X) and Instagram on 8 September, he acknowledged the deaths with hashtags #RIPCaven and #RipFamilyOf4, bringing a sinking feeling to fans.
