"I had a lady I looked up to, and I just knew that one day I wanted to look like her."
When asked who the lady was, Cyan revealed it was rapper Cardi B.
Cyan revealed that she struggled to form relationships in high school because of her looks.
"No one really wanted to associate themselves with me because I looked so bold and straight.
"My body was like an ice-cream body... straight up. If I wore pants, it was worse."
Cyan says she's never understood why people base their opinion of someone on their looks. She believes kids are taught from a young age that being slim is better received by society than someone who's overweight.
"Let's talk about cartoons. If you see a cartoon and you see a big woman there, aren't they always the villain in the cartoons? And then the attractive ones are always so innocent and the queens. But the big ones are always angry, all the time."
Cyan added that she knew she wanted to be a superstar one day, and so she had work done on her body in the hopes that people would love her.
Netizens react to Cyan's comments
Some online users were shocked that Cyan considered Cardi B a role model, while others mocked her reasoning.
Masile Nokukhanya asked:
"So some people take Cardi as a role model? 😳"
Nicolo expressed concern over Cyan's influence on the youth:
"Youth unemployment is at 50% but distract them with stupidity and foolishness."
RodgerNje tweeted:
"She is really a kid, shame, that reasoning 😂"
In the same interview, Cyan gave insight into her dating preferences.
The social media star, who previously dated Blaq Diamond member Ndu Browns, says she doesn't have a type, but there are exceptions. Cyan says she won't date a man if he's Nigerian, Tsonga or a rapper.
"The first red flag with a guy, especially a rapper, is when they're suicidal in their songs," she quipped.

"This is absolutely a learning curve for me," she said.
