Netizens react to Akon and his wife allegedly going separate ways

Shortly after it was announced that the star and his wife are alledgedly getting a divorce on social media, many netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. Here's what they had to say below:

@williamc____ said:

"30 years wasted another reminder to not get married, that doesn’t mean don’t have a relationship or a family it means don’t get the government involved in your relationship."

@e_okinyo replied:

"Yesterday I watched an episode where @ZubyMusic speaks to some dude about marriage and divorce and something like this is a stark reminder of that interview. The divorce rates right now are staggering. Of course I don't know what's up with Akon and the wife, but I'd say that marriages can only survive if we stop viewing them as an avenue to get some material benefits. Maybe the society realises the sacramental value of marriage one more time."

@LyricoMycal commented:

"After 29 years of marriage, I struggle to understand how divorce could make sense. We’ve built a lifetime together raising children, overcoming struggles, celebrating victories. To walk away now feels like erasing the very foundation we’ve spent nearly three decades creating."

@GHDeservesBest mentioned:

"Another “milking” story loading 🔜. This is why we need to wise up when it comes to relationships. Don’t let gold-diggers drain you; if someone isn’t ready to build, grow, or educate themselves for a better future, think twice before tying yourself down. Build with people who bring value, not just vibes. Marriage should be about partnership, not opportunism."

@MosdefNG replied:

"If she stayed that long, it means she tried…her decision should be respected"
