South African podcaster Penuel Mlotshwa recently weighed in on Charlie Kirk's assassination and what it meant for him.
The right-wing political activist was shot and killed on 10 September 2025 at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, while on stage for the American Comeback Tour.
Reacting to his killing, in a TikTok video on Thursday, 12 September, the host of The Konvo Show spoke at length about Kirk's gruesome murder, saying he identifies with how Kirk made people feel:
"Charlie Kirk could be me. I've said some polarising, triggering and gaslighting things online. Whether it's about religion, politics, or the ANC government, there are people who have been incredibly upset by some of my utterances."

He went on to say that even some of the guests on his podcast have been harassed by people who don't agree with their views.
Penuel, who has also faced criticism for his opinions, highlighted that anyone could easily be "taken out," simply because their views don't align with those of the masses.
He went on to sympathise with Charlie Kirk while highlighting the dangers of free speech:
"We must remember that in the world out there, there are people who get emotional about what we say and will do crazy things because they are stupid, mentally unstable and very passionate about their cause."
