Basetsana Kumalo has penned a heartfelt open letter to her son.

The former Miss South Africa took to Instagram to share some words of wisdom.

"You are a gift, a reminder that love, hope and purpose are passed from one generation to the next," she wrote in her caption.
"I look at you and see both the innocence of youth and the strength of the man you are becoming."

Basetsana shares sons uShaka Kgositsile Emmanuel Kumalo and Nkosinathi Gabriel Kumalo with her husband, Romeo Kumalo. The couple also have a daughter, Bontle ba Morena Jasmine Kumalo.

The former pageant queen went on to share important lessons in the caption of her post.

She wrote that life will throw both expected and unexpected challenges his way, and offered some pearls of wisdom on how to handle them.

"When those moments arrive, remember that what defines you is not the storm itself but how you stand in it.
"Hold fast to courage, faith and integrity."

She ended her touching post by reminding her son of her love for him.

"Whether near or far, in triumph or trial, I am with you. You are my son, my pride and one of my life's greatest blessings."

Basetsana Kumalo's advice to her children

Basetsana Kumalo is a proud mother as she frequently gushes over her kids on Instagram.

The TV personality previously wrote an emotional message to her son, Nkosinathi, when he celebrated his matric dance.

She described the day as "emotional" because she couldn't believe how time had flown.

In another message to her daughter, Bontle, she advised her little girl to simply be herself.

"Know yourself before the world shapes you," she wrote in an Instagram caption.
"Visualise possibilities, guard your heart with faith, speak truth, and set boundaries. Dance to your own rhythm."

Basetsana Kumalo has always been more than just a pretty face.

She's produced hit reality TV shows such as Mzansi Magic's Date My Family and has had her hand in several businesses.

Now, she's dipping her toe into the film industry with the release of an upcoming film entitled City Gold.

More than just executive producing the movie, Basetsana is set to star in it as well, adding actress to her already-impressive resume.

The film is set to be released this year.

Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe joins Miss South Africa

In a previous entertainment article, Briefly News reported that Patrice Motsepe's wife, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, has partnered with the Miss South Africa Organisation.

Africa Fashion International (AFI), which was established by Dr Precious in 2007, announced its strategic partnership with Miss SA on Instagram and described the organisation as its "sister company".

Fans were not impressed by the news, with many saying the move was going to "kill" the pageant.
