According to Daily Sun, Thembi Seete acknowledged their supporters for helping carry the group's legacy for all those years. For her, she dedicated the award to the late Lebo Mathosa.

"We're honoured to receive this award and to carry Lebo's name. It means so much to us. Boom Shaka is not complete without her. She is part of this legacy and everything we are being celebrated for today. When we stood on that stage, I knew she was there with us in spirit, smiling and dancing the way she always did," Thembi was quoted saying.

The former Idols SA member said they broke boundaries as a group and made the Kwaito music genre fashionable. The dancer and singer lauded Lebo's talent, which helped shape the group's career. She stated that their group helped give young people a voice, which makes the award so much more meaningful.
