While most people celebrate their birthday by receiving gifts and splurging on themselves, Angel Nqobile Ndlela spent hers giving back.

The Real Housewives of Durban star put a smile on other people's faces for her 31st birthday. In partnership with her foundation, Angel Ndlela Group, and other organisations, she visited a Primary School and made a difference in the children's lives.

What Angel Ndlela got up to on her birthday

The reality TV star turned 31 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, and she spent the day at Brynhill Primary School in Swayimana. Angel Ndlela highlighted the important role society plays in ensuring children get access to necessities such as stationery and school bags.

"Year 31. Birthdays are days of receiving, but this year I decided to be on the giving end. I spent the day at Bruynshill Primary School in Swayimana, donating bags to their wonderful learners. God has blessed me so much; therefore, I need to thank Him in this way."

She then thanked everyone involved, including the staff at the Primary School, who made this day possible for everyone.

In another IG post, Angel shared a video, and it displayed happy faces from the kids who received the gifts.

"For my birthday, I gave back school bags to the wonderful Brynhill Primary School in Swayimana — a simple reminder that access to tools like stationery and backpacks isn’t a privilege, it’s a right. Education is lighter when carried with dignity.
"While access to education is an important factor in every child’s life, so is the ability to walk into school with confidence, equipped with the basics that make learning easier and brighter," added.

Many netizens were not impressed after The Real Housewives of Durban star showed off her new abode online.

Fans of the hit reality TV show criticised the house's "modesty" and her role on the show. Meanwhile, others came to Angel's defence, saying she was merely portraying how most South Africans live.
