Fan Suspects AKA’s Spotify Account Got Hacked Following a Latest Release

Worry spread like wildfire on TikTok after a fan noticed a new song which was released under the late Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes' Spotify account. The late rapper was shot dead in February 2023 outside a popular Durban establishment. His friend, celebrity chef Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, was also shot.

The last project released under his account was his Mass Country, which surpassed 99 million streams.

The user @sthobi_ posted a video on TikTok on Monday, 22 September 2025, questioning whether the late rapper's account got hacked.

The track Aka (Cocktail) is not in the rapper's native language, nor was it his voice, and in addition to that, it was never announced by the rapper's team.

"Watch till the end. I don’t know if it got hacked or what," the user said.

AKA's Spotify account has 526.8K monthly listeners as of September 2025. When Briefly News checked, the song is still uploaded on the music streaming site; however, it is no longer under AKA's account.

Just recently, AKA's posthumous album Mass Country surpassed 42 million streams on Spotify globally.

Although the song is no longer under the slain rapper's account, many fans were left shook. Some peeps argue that it might have been a glitch as the artist who uploaded it goes by the similar name Aka, while others are calling for his team to rectify this latest discovery.

The rapper's murder trial has been set for July 2026, while the pre-trial has been pushed to June 2026.
