South African TV presenter Rorisang Thandekiso had to pause her workday on Saturday, 15 August 2026, to set the record straight after old photos of her wearing a wedding dress sent the internet spiralling. The clip, filmed on what appears to be a brightly lit television studio set complete with pink and red neon lighting, shows a visibly exasperated Rorisang speaking directly to camera in an attempt to calm the chaos.

The images that triggered the rumours were originally posted by an impersonator account using the handle @rorisangtt1 on TikTok, before spreading to X on Thursday, 13 August 2026. Within hours, Rorisang said she was fielding calls, DMs, and even worried messages from family members convinced she had secretly tied the knot.

Why was Rorisang Thandekiso wearing a wedding dress?

She was quick to clear up the confusion. The photos, the media personality explained, are from 2017 and were taken at a wedding-themed event held to mark the premiere of a film. As one of the MCs for the occasion, she dressed accordingly. Her co-host was a comedian and model named Beach Body, and the bridal attire was simply part of the event's theme.

"I'm not married. I'm not getting married, guys," she said in the TikTok video that has since gone viral, before adding, "Because when you guys do this, what if there was a brother there looking at me? Now you've told him I'm married."

She also called out the culture of clout-chasing that fuels the spread of misleading content, warning followers to be vigilant.

"If I didn't tell you in a video of myself, the chances are pray for me," she added, signing off with a reminder that she still loves her supporters despite the drama.
