Springbok WAG and actuarial associate Simone Tshituka has moved one step closer to the Miss South Africa crown, landing a coveted spot in the 2026 competition's Top 19 finalists.

The 26-year-old, who is married to Springbok flanker Emmanuel "Manu" Tshituka, was officially named a finalist on Wednesday, 19 August. Judges singled her out for her intelligence, warmth, kindness and authenticity throughout the selection rounds.

Beyond competing for the title itself, Simone has set her sights on championing childhood education, with a specific focus on mathematics mentorship programmes. Her cause aligns with the broader mission of the Miss SA Organisation's Empower Youth Africa programme, which backs each Top 19 finalist's personal initiative across areas such as education, health, youth development and entrepreneurship.

Miss SA patron and chairperson Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe has been clear about what the competition stands for, emphasising that it is designed to nurture women who understand their influence stretches well beyond wearing a crown.

Rugby community rallies behind Simone Tshituka

Support from the rugby world came in thick and fast after the announcement. Manu celebrated his wife directly in the comments section, while his brother Vincent Tshituka also offered his encouragement publicly.

Several prominent rugby WAGs added their voices to the chorus, including Layla Kolbe, Sasha de Sousa and Jandre Koch, wives of Cheslin Kolbe, Makazole Mapimpi and Vincent Koch respectively.

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi went a step further, sharing Simone's finalist announcement on his Instagram Story and captioning it with the words "My sister."

Simone is one of 19 finalists in contention for the 2026 Miss South Africa title. The full Top 19 includes Amogelang Bunu, Bonolo Marang Motau, Cwenga Koyana Kotu-Rammopo, Ipeleng Pearl Madiba, Kaylan Matthews, Kendra Norah Horne, Ndiwanga Muravha, Palesa van Rooyen, Sanelisiwe Diko, Sunshine Dlangamandla, Tiyani Makamu and Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg. Another finalist, Palesa van Rooyen, has drawn her own high-profile backing from former Springbok WAG Rachel Kolisi. The final ceremony is set to take place in the coming months.
