Sean 'Diddy' Combs could be walking out of prison sooner than anyone expected, with the Bureau of Prisons now listing 5 February 2028 as his projected release date from the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
The revised date pushes his exit forward by more than two weeks from the previously listed date of 20 February 2028. It is also a significant shift from where things stood earlier, when his original projected release was pencilled in for June 2028. Multiple adjustments have slowly but steadily brought that timeline forward.
Why Diddy is in prison
Diddy was convicted in 2025 on two counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for purposes tied to prostitution. A jury cleared him of the more severe charges, which included racketeering and sex trafficking. During the federal trial, prosecutors presented evidence around what they described as "Freak Offs", alleging that Diddy arranged sexual encounters involving his girlfriends and male escorts. In October 2025, a judge handed him a sentence of four years and two months in federal prison.

A reported altercation with a fellow inmate drew widespread attention and reportedly resulted in Diddy being placed in solitary confinement for a period.
