Minnie Dlamini has taken her legal battle against MacGyver Mukwevho, popularly known as MacG, to the next level, suing the podcaster for R2.5 million over comments he made about her personal hygiene on an episode of Podcast and Chill in April 2025. The case has now been referred to court, and Mzansi has plenty to say about it.
The TV personality submitted a 79-page statement to the Equality Court, laying out in detail how the episode affected both her finances and her reputation.
Briefly News previously reported that the fallout from MacG's remarks cost Minnie a Nivea campaign worth R897,000 - a direct financial blow she attributes to the podcast appearance. She is seeking R1 million for herself and a further R1.5 million to be paid to Women For Change, a South African non-profit organisation and advocacy movement dedicated to combating GBV and femicide.
In his answering affidavit, MacG has contested several aspects of Dlamini's claims. He maintains that the comments in question were speculative in nature and were never presented as factual statements. He has also pointed to a prior apology and indicated that he would be open to participating in mediation as well as gender-sensitisation sessions should the court require it.

The latest developments in the case have stirred strong opinions online. Many social media users sided firmly with Dlamini.
