Rather than focus on Matlala, Sol Phenduka turned the spotlight on his lawyer. The radio personality noted that Van den Heever's client list features some genuinely intimidating names. He pointed out that she represented Czech fugitive Radovan Krejčíř and Vusi "Khekhe," describing them as "way more dangerous characters." Phenduka also noted that she spoke at the funeral of Mswazi as a close friend.

"I doubt Mr Matlala would touch her. She seems connected to way more dangerous people," he wrote on X.

His response came as a reply to a post by @officialtwinny, who had expressed concern about Van den Heever's safety, asking: "Is Annelene Van den Heever safe? Cat Matlala is one dangerous man."
