Tyla Adds Second Gauteng Date and Moves A*POP World Tour Show to SunBet Arena

South African fans of double GRAMMY Award-winning artist Tyla have even more to look forward to in the new year. The global pop star has added a second Gauteng concert date and shifted her January show to a new venue as part of her upcoming A*POP World Tour.
Tyla will now take the stage at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on both Friday, 8 January and Saturday, 9 January 2027, giving Gauteng fans two nights to catch her live.
Why Tyla's show was moved from Nasrec
The original January 9 concert was set for the Nasrec Outdoor Area in Johannesburg, but promoters Showtime Management and Anything Goes decided to rethink the setup. Concerns around the Highveld's notorious summer thunderstorms, combined with requests for seated options and a general review of the audience experience, pushed them to seek an indoor alternative. The SunBet Arena ticked all those boxes, offering both standing and seated configurations. Seating tickets start from R895, excluding service fees, and are available exclusively through Ticketmaster.co.za.

Fans who purchased tickets for the original January 9 Nasrec show do not need to do anything. Their tickets have been automatically transferred to the SunBet Arena in the same category. Howler, the previous ticketing platform, has reached out to existing ticket holders directly to handle any queries around replacements, refunds or other arrangements, with all tickets now migrated to Ticketmaster.
South Africa hosts three dates on the tour. Regarding age restrictions, all three South African concerts are open to attendees aged six and older, with no unaccompanied minors permitted. At SunBet Arena, access to the Golden Circle and General Access standing areas is reserved for those who are at least 12 years old and 1.2 metres tall. Both conditions must be met to enter those sections.

Tyla returns to SunBet Arena after 2025 sold-out show
This won't be Tyla's first time at the SunBet Arena. Briefly News reported that she previously sold out the Pretoria venue in 2025, and her return will give fans a first taste of live material from her second studio album, A*POP, which reached number one on the Billboard US World Albums chart and number three on the UK R&B Albums chart.
The A*POP World Tour is Tyla's first full headline tour, spanning 34 dates across multiple continents. It opens in Paris on 12 October before moving through Europe, the UK and a packed North American leg covering cities including Toronto and Los Angeles.
