South African content creator Grace Mondlana has gone public with accusations that fellow creator Advise Langa has been copying her content, despite a private conversation in which she says he acknowledged his behaviour and promised to change.
In a selfie-style video filmed inside her home, Mondlana laid out the timeline of events with a composed but direct tone. She explained that she first became aware of Langa through social media, the same way most people did, noting that he works in the hair industry. After hiring him for a house call service, the two were seen together publicly for the first time, but she was clear that they were never friends.
"It's a customer in a client exchange."
Grace's private warning to Advise Langa
Grace Mondlana said that after noticing a pattern of behaviour, she reached out to Langa privately rather than publicly calling him out. During that conversation, she told him he had been "seen repeatedly doing stuff as I do" and encouraged him to develop his own identity. She recalled telling him. At the time, she believed he had taken the advice on board:

"It'll be beautiful to see you thrive in your own individuality."
However, the copying continued. Mondlana said she stayed silent even as others began calling Langa out online, choosing not to get involved in those public conversations. What eventually pushed her to speak was what happened after Langa appeared to apologise to her privately. In screenshots of voice messages shared in the video, Langa admitted he had not initially noticed the similarity between their content and expressed remorse. But when people criticised him in the comments, he responded with what Mondlana described as sarcasm rather than sincerity.

Mondlana's message to her audience
She said, visibly frustrated by the contradiction between his private accountability and his public attitude:
"I can't have a decent conversation with you privately, and then you go on another platform and say things like this."
Mondlana ended the video with a broader piece of advice directed at anyone watching, not just Langa. She stressed that content creators should protect their relationship with their audience and with brands, and that when disputes like this arise, the most professional response is silence. She made it clear she was drawing a line under the situation, saying the matter was "wrapped up" and wishing everyone, including Langa, a good weekend.
