Controversial social media personality Musa Khawula is not taking the bait. On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, the X blogger shared what appears to be a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to represent the Commission Recommendations Task Team (CRTT), a body linked to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. Rather than respond quietly, Khawula posted the exchange publicly, captioned with "a trap is a trap" before signing off with his trademark "xo xo, gossip girl."
What the Messages Said
The messages, shared in two panels, show a representative who says they had already spoken with Khawula by telephone before switching to WhatsApp. The person identified themselves as part of the CRTT, which they described as investigating cases arising from the Madlanga Commission. They requested a sit-down interview with Khawula, offering to conduct it at his nearest police station or at any other venue he felt comfortable choosing.

The tone of the messages was formal and courteous, but Khawula was unconvinced. By sharing the exchange publicly rather than engaging privately, he made clear he had no intention of playing along with what he viewed as a set-up.

Followers Warn Khawula to Tread Carefully
The post quickly gained traction on X, with followers weighing in on whether the approach was legitimate or something more sinister.
@D_Molatoli warned: "Don't go there, Musa. Wait for the Commission to contact you properly. This one is a trap vele."
@RichmanSekatane offered a more theatrical alternative, writing: "Tell that person you are comfortable with a presser, next to the chairperson and his commissioners."
Khawula has long been one of South Africa's most talked-about gossip figures on X, regularly posting content that attracts significant attention and, at times, controversy. His decision to air the messages publicly, rather than seek legal advice quietly, is on-brand for a personality who has built his following on transparency and provocation in equal measure.
