Céline Dion has joined an elite circle of music legends immortalised in plastic, but not everyone is convinced the doll does the icon justice.

The official Barbie Instagram account unveiled the Céline Dion Barbie on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The doll pays tribute to one of her most celebrated red carpet moments, capturing the navy blue gown and the legendary "Heart of the Ocean" necklace, both of which she wore to the 1998 Academy Awards, where she performed My Heart Will Go On, the beloved theme song from the 1997 blockbuster Titanic.

The Barbie reveal arrives at a particularly meaningful time for Dion and her supporters. In 2022, she publicly disclosed her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms, which significantly affected her voice and forced her off the stage.

After years away from performing, she announced a Paris residency and made her long-awaited return to the stage in September 2026.

Fans say the doll doesn't resemble Céline Dion

Despite the sentiment behind the tribute, the doll's likeness to Céline Dion sparked immediate debate in the comments. A wave of supporters argued the face on the doll was simply not recognisable as the Canadian powerhouse, with several claiming the doll bore a stronger resemblance to actress Lisa Rinna.

lucyontheground asked:

"Why did I think this was Lisa Rinna?"

celinedion_amour wrote:

"So sorry, but she doesn't look like our Céline."

zoeroe added:

"This is Lisa Rinna."

bonnebellfanatic was disappointed:

"I so wish she actually looked like her."

Not all the comments dwelled on the resemblance debate, though. Several fans used the moment to reflect on what Dion's music has meant to them personally, sharing heartfelt memories tied to her songs throughout the years.
