Metro FM's beloved relationship segment, Ask A Man, is officially heading to television, and SABC has now confirmed the three faces who will lead those candid conversations on screen.

Entertainment blogger @TvblogbyMLU broke the casting news on Friday, 16 October 2026, revealing that Somizi Mhlongo, Quinton "NakedDJ" Masina, and Vafa Naraghi will co-host the show. Ask A Man is set to air every Monday at 7 PM from 2 November 2026 on S3, with a simulcast on SABC Plus.

The channel first confirmed it was adapting the radio feature into a full TV format back in July 2026. The premise keeps the DNA of the original Metro FM segment intact: anonymous relationship stories submitted by South Africans are read out, with hosts and experts weighing in on love, dating, and modern relationships. Somizi and NakedDJ were already familiar voices from the radio version, while Naraghi is a new addition for the screen format.

Mzansi responds to new show

The announcement has stirred up quite a bit of noise online, and not the good kind. Many peeps questioned the concept and the casting, with some calling it a step down for a channel that airs Top Billing.

@Cedsilo05 wrote:

"We demand better shows… ask entrepreneurs, create employment. Ask a man what, actually? Reason other races laugh at Blackness coz we got access to empower, but we empower entertainment rather than generational wealth."

@PabloDaRunna directed his disappointment straight at the channel:

"@SABC3 I'm disappointed....never thought you'd stoop to MojaLove level..what rubbish of content is this?"

@MrsSaintDrake was particularly blunt about the first two hosts:

"Just remove the first 2 immediately even!!! like bring back Dineo if you must or get an actual THERAPIST if you must."

@Pita_Airl added:

"@SABC3 this is not premium content though you are bringing a Moja love type of content on S3? Same channel with top billing; this is rubbish."

@Sneza_Mkhize summed up many people's feelings with two words:

"For what reason?"

@SNjotini was equally cutting:

"Moja Love on S3."

Despite the scepticism, the show is still going ahead. Whether Ask A Man can win over its critics when it finally hits screens on 2 November remains to be seen.
