A night of live music at Boomerang Restaurant in Tembisa took a violent turn on Sunday, 25 October 2026, when King Monada was reportedly driven off stage by bottle-throwing patrons before he could finish his set.
The lekompo artist, who recently made headlines when his company's assets faced an auction, was midway through his performance when the situation reportedly deteriorated.
Monada, who recently sparked a debate on social media when he found love again, had no choice but to cut the show short and exit the venue.
Making matters worse, Makhadzi, who had been scheduled to follow Monada on the night's lineup, reportedly departed the venue without performing or offering any comment to those who had turned up to see her.

Social media users are divided
One user pointed to pricing frustrations, with @SASecretPolice writing:
"You can't just change prices from R80 to R95 in Tembisa."
Others questioned the booking itself, with @Kgapu6 arguing:
"These two superstars should have been booked at Mehlareng stadium, not in a restaurant; they have huge followers in Limpopo, and everyone knows that Tembisa is Limpopo."
Not everyone was sympathetic to the crowd. @Swiiiiiiidad_7 condemned the behaviour outright:
"No total respect for artists. All because of unruly people, managers who think because they are spending criminal money makes them gangster enough not to respect other people."
Some questioned the musical fit for the audience, with @TruthOrPeace_ posting:
"Lekompo music for makompo fans, what were they expecting." @Janssens2A added: "Mara I don't know what is it with the Kkng, it seems like live performance outside his province is not his thing."
@Majozix placed the blame squarely on alcohol:
"I blame alcohol. Next time they must go perform at churches instead of shebeens and taverns."
