Amahle Khumalo talks about her character on the new show

While many fans had a lot to say about this upcoming show, one of its talents, Amahle Khumalo, shared with Briefly News about her role as a young shebeen queen on the show and how it came as a shock to her when she was told about the character she would be portraying.

She said:

"I was really surprised to learn that Mthandeni runs her own shebeen. A friend and I decided to step out of our comfort zones and spent a lot of time in shebeens in Alexandra and Soweto. We took our time in the township, talking not just with the shebeen queens but also with the regulars, and got to know the local culture. I’m thankful to everyone who welcomed me and showed me how a shebeen truly works."
