One of e.tv's most-watched drama series is heading for the exit. The broadcaster confirmed on Monday, 7 September 2026, that Isitha: The Enemy will wrap up permanently on 23 April 2027, with no plans for a renewal.
The show, which began as a spinoff of The Black Door in 2023 and followed the Sokhulu family into a standalone series, holds the distinction of being the last remaining "legacy" drama on e.tv. Over its run, it picked up recognition at the SAFTAs and Royalty Soapie Awards, earning wins for Best Achievement in Original Music/Score – Telenovela, Best Achievement in Cinematography, and Outstanding Lighting Direction.
Months after it was renewed, Helga Palmer, Group Head of Content Development and Strategy at eMedia Investments, acknowledged the show's place in the channel's history while signalling a new direction.
What to expect before the Isitha: The Enemy finale
Mandla N, co-founder of Black Brain Pictures and executive producer on the series, promised that the final stretch would honour the show's identity.

"There are still a lot of stories left to tell before we say goodbye."
The lead-up to the finale will include a storyline called "Bulldozed," which centres on the demolition of shacks and the community fallout that follows. e.tv says audiences should brace for deaths, unexpected plot turns and new faces. Among the new arrivals is Dineo Mtshali, a Soweto-born fashion designer played by actress and musician Kabelo "KB" Motsilanyane, whose character is set to disrupt the life of lead character Mapholoba. Isitha: The Enemy airs on e.tv at 20:30.
