One lady asked what measures Cyril Ramaphosa had put in place to ensure General Mkhwanazi’s safety. Many people believe that Mkhwanazi might be targeted for his damning allegations about a crime syndicate in the country.

The alleged crime syndicate run by Senzo Mchunu, who’s on special leave, is said to be led by politicians, gangsters, and the police force. Since the news came out, Mzansi has been wondering whether Ramaphosa was a part of the corruption.

The president did not think Mkhwanazi needed any protection, and explained:

“I have not heard that the KZN police commissioner could be in danger, but he is a police official, and as a police official, obviously, he has people who support him in his work. So I think his life should be well secured because, as a police official with a number of other police officials working with you, there should be no dangers.”

South Africans were underwhelmed by the president’s response and pointed out that he seemed uninterested. People expressed themselves in a thread of over a thousand comments on the now-viral video that garnered 531.6K views in 24 hours.
